MADISON VIOLET TO PLAY IN WALLACEBURG SEPTEMBER 21

Council For The Arts hosts Juno Nominated Roots Duo

MadVThe Wallaceburg & District Council For The Arts (WDCA) proudly presents MADISON VIOLET live from Wallaceburg’s  Jeanne Gordon Theatre on Saturday, September 21st at 8 pm.

One of the country’s top acts, the multiple award-winning and Juno nominated duo of Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac are a fine example of what the WDCA hopes to bring to the community on a regular basis.

“This is a show we’ve had on our radar since the initial conversation of bringing back the Council For The Arts,” said WDCA President Dave Elliott. “We want to consistently provide top quality entertainment.  We want the citizens of Wallaceburg and area to be able to depend on the Arts Council to provide entertainment that they will love. So even if you`ve never heard of the performer you can trust the Arts Council that it will be of high quality and also of excellent value. We take date night in Wallaceburg to a whole new level!“

The Wallaceburg stop is one of only two Ontario tour dates on Madison Violet’s schedule before heading overseas sweeping through the U.K., Switzerland and Germany.

Known as MadViolet to their growing fanbase, Brenley and Lisa have received multiple East Coast Music Awards and nominations as well as two Canadian Folk Music Awards. In 2009, they became the winners of the John Lennon Songwriting Competition for their single “The Ransom”. MacIsaac is the sister of world-renowned fiddler Ashley MacIsaac. MacEachern has family in the local area, making the upcoming show a homecoming of sorts for Madison Violet.

Their brand new album “The Good in Goodbye” was released on September 6 and will be available for purchase at the event.  Their latest work is an open diary of their personal and professional experiences together as friends and musicians, two very unique relationships that affect each other in profound ways.

The Wallaceburg & District Council For The Arts is a charitable organization with 30 years of history locally, including many nostalgic memories of John Gardiner’s Green Onion Folk Club. Since picking the group back up and dusting itself off, the re-formed Council has enjoyed early success, including a sold-out, standing room only performance from world renowned photo-journalist Larry Towell and harmonica virtuoso Mike Stevens on Tuesday night (September 10th).  The WDCA has also witnessed performances from Wallaceburg-born and Canadian Country Music Hall of Famer Ralph Murphy, Rick Fines, emerging Canadian songstress Ambre McLean and blues-rockers Daddy Long Legs over their first few months back on the job. The Council also held a series of children’s events over the summer, with more family and children’s events planned for the future.

Tickets for Madison Violet are $25 and can be purchased at the Wallaceburg Museum (connected to the theatre) at 505 King Street in Wallaceburg.
