A local man is facing several charges after an apparent mail heist.
The accused initially called police late yesterday afternoon and reported his car stolen.
The vehicle was found a short time later, but inside officers discovered a cheque made out to someone on New Scotland Line.
Authorities say it turns out the accused was also spotted earlier in the day taking mail and damaging mailboxes along Pike Road and Bates Line.
The 21-year-old was arrested and held for a bail hearing, charged with public mischief, possession of stolen property, and mischief under $5000.
