Making Affordable Housing More Accessible

As a Chatham family settles into their new Habitat for Humanity home, a local councillor says the organization is a shining example of how community groups can make a difference.

Brock McGregor says there’s a lot of talk about affordable housing and sustainability, and the solution takes more than just governments.

“”We don’t have to wait for others to lead all the time, communities can come together and do things together to make a difference,” McGregor says. “In a case like this, we get a bricks and mortar example to look at and see this is what the community accomplished for people that needed it.”

Habitat is already working towards its 7th home build in Chatham-Kent, set to get underway in Wallaceburg next spring.
