A Leamington man is facing charges for allegedly threatening his partner and failing to surrender his firearm license.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a home in southeast Chatham for a domestic dispute on April 10 after a woman reported that her partner had allegedly made multiple threats to cause harm and damage property.
A 33-year-old Leamington man was arrested at the scene and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and threatening to damage property. He was later released from custody with conditions, including that he surrender his possession and acquisition firearm license.
However, the accused allegedly refused to do so and was arrested again on Campbell Street in Chatham at around 3 p.m. on Tuesday. He has since been additionally charged with failing to comply with a release order and was held for a bail hearing.
The man’s family turned over an expired firearm license later that day.
