Chatham-Kent police made a strange arrest early Wednesday morning when called to a disturbance on Lorne Avenue in Chatham.
They learned a man and a woman were out for a walk when they got into a verbal argument that turned physical.
By the time police arrived the man had stripped down to his boxers.
Following a struggle the man was put in the back of a cruiser where he started to spit all over the inside.
The car was taken out of service to be cleaned.
The 25 year old man of no fixed address was charged with assault , cause disturbance and mischief under 5000.
He was held pending a bail hearing.
