A Chatham man is back in police custody after allegedly possessing weapons despite a court order.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said the 47-year-old was arrested back on November 9 after police responded to a wellness check at an unknown address where several people had been threatened. During an investigation, officers seized several weapons, including a revolver air pistol, a Crossman F-11.22 calibre air rifle, a crossbow, and an antique single-shot pistol, along with pellets and nine arrows.

It was later learned that the accused was bound by court-ordered conditions that prohibited him from possessing any weapons. As a result, a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On Monday, police were called to a disturbance at a residence on Orchard Heights in Chatham shortly before 10 p.m. The accused was located at the scene and arrested on the outstanding warrant.

He has been charged with failing to comply with an undertaking and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
