Attempting to put out a cigarette on another person and vandalizing a vehicle was how one man decided to spend his Halloween this year.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the Cardinal Crescent area regarding a disturbance shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday.
Following an investigation, police learned that a man had spray-painted the hood of a vehicle, causing around $2,000 in damages. The man also threatened another individual while attempting to extinguish a cigarette on the victim’s forehead. Several items belonging to another individual were also found damaged.
A 39-year-old Chatham man was arrested at the scene and charged with assault with a weapon, two counts of mischief under $5,000, and uttering threats to cause bodily harm. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
