An assault charge has been laid following an investigation into intimate partner violence in Wallaceburg.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to an address on Dauw Avenue at around 2 a.m. on Saturday after a man threw an unspecified object at his partner.

While the victim was uninjured, the thrown object caused damage to some property.

As a result, a 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and is now facing assault and mischief charges. He was later released from custody with a March court date.
