A Windsor man has been arrested on an outstanding warrant in connection to a mace attack in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a parking lot outside a business on McNaughton Avenue West on September 19 at around 8 p.m. following an assault.
Authorities said the victim had attempted to speak with a driver about a parking issue when a man allegedly sprayed them with pepper spray before fleeing the area.
Police were able to identify a suspect using video surveillance footage and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The 24-year-old Windsor man was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police on Tuesday and transported to CK police headquarters. He is now charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and assault with a weapon. The accused has since been released from custody with a November court date.
