Allegedly stealing from a Wallaceburg business has resulted in charges for a local man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the retail business on McNaughton Avenue following a shoplifting incident on Sunday at around 4 p.m.
Officers located a suspect nearby who was allegedly in possession of the store’s stolen merchandise.
The 43-year-old Chatham-Kent man is now charged with theft under $5,000, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and failing to comply with an undertaking. He will answer the charges in court next month.
