Charges have been laid following an altercation at an office on Grand Avenue in Chatham.
Authorities say one man struck another in the face, completely unprovoked late last week.
The victim was taken to hospital with what police describe as significant injuries, while the suspect was arrested for assault causing bodily harm and breaching his probation.
