A 33-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sneak into the United States on a cross-border freight train from Windsor.

According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, border agents in Detroit spotted a man riding the Detroit-bound train on Sunday and contacted the Canadian Pacific Railway to have the train stopped.

Once the train was stopped, a 33-year-old man was arrested for illegal entry into the U.S.

Border agents also learned the man was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant from London for possession of a dangerous weapon. He has since been turned over to the Canada Border Services Agency.
