Trashing a motel room in Chatham has resulted in charges.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a motel on Grand Avenue West on Tuesday shortly before 3 p.m. for a report of property damage.
Officers arrived to find that one of the motel rooms had been significantly damaged and that a tenant had threatened to set the room on fire.
A suspect was located in the motel parking lot and arrested without incident.
A 40-year-old Chatham man is now charged with mischief under $5,000 and uttering threats. He was later released from custody with an August court date.
