A local man is facing several charges after an argument turned violent in Chatham.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to a Patteson Avenue address on Sunday at around 9:30 p.m. to conduct an assault investigation.
Authorities said a verbal argument escalated when the man allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened to harm her. Officers also learned of other past assault incidents.
As a result, a 28-year-old Chatham man was located and arrested. He is now charged with assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, uttering threats, and two counts of assault.
He was taken to police headquarters before being released with an April court date.
