Charges have been laid against a Chatham man after an argument with his girlfriend turned violent.
According to police, the two got into a fight yesterday afternoon when the man allegedly started hitting her with various items, including a small knife.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Officers soon tracked down the 32-year-old accused and charged him with four counts of assault with a weapon.
As it turns out, the accused was also on the Chatham-Kent Police wanted list for various outstanding warrants, including assault and forcible confinement.
He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
