Charges have now been laid in connection to a months-long fraud investigation.
Back in early August, Chatham-Kent Police say a man tried to cash two stolen cheques from a business in Chatham. The teller thought something was amiss and seized the cheques.
The suspect was later identified and a warrant issued for his arrest.
The 36-year-old Chatham turned himself in yesterday and is now charged with uttering a forged document. He’ll be in court next month.
