Allegedly resisting arrested has led to charges for a Merlin man.

The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at Memorial Park in Tilbury at around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

Upon arrival, local residents voiced concerns to officers about a man who was in the park. Officers then instructed him to leave under the Trespass to Property Act.

However, the man allegedly refused and resisted arrest when officers attempted to take him into custody.

A 44-year-old Merlin man is now charged with resisting arrest. He was released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
