Early this morning a 37 year old Chatham man was charged with arson and resisting arrest.
Chatham Kent Police on patrol observed a man walking in the King St. West area when a flame erupted from a construction dumpster.
Police apprehended the man, he did resist but eventually complied with Police. Quick actions by First Responders kept the fire from spreading.
Upon further investigation it was found that the man also had a warrant for his arrest for failing to comply.
The man faces arson, and resisting arrest charges and is being held pending a bail hearing.
