A Chatham man has been charged in connection with a child luring investigation involving a child under 16 years old.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers with Internet Child Exploitation Unit began the investigation earlier this month into a man luring a child for a sexual purpose while using social media platforms.
Authorities announced on Monday that officers have executed a search warrant and arrested a 22-year-old Chatham man for child luring. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
The victim has also been identified and has been offered the necessary support, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing.
