A single-vehicle crash near downtown Chatham has resulted in an impaired driving charge for a local man.
The Chatham-Kent Police Service said officers were called to the collision on King Street West just before 10 p.m. on Wednesday.
No injuries were reported.
Believing he had been drinking, police arrested the driver and administered a breath test. Authorities said the driver’s blood alcohol content was found to be more than double the legal limit.
As a result, the 20-year-old accused has been charged with driving with a blood alcohol concentration over 80mg. He was later released with conditions and a future court date.
