A Chatham man has been fined after a dog attack seriously injured a woman, leaving her with life-long complications.
The 33-year-old man was recently convicted in a Chatham court following the dog attack that took place in 2018.
Animal control services in Chatham-Kent, a then 22-year-old woman was bitten on the arm by the dog and seriously injured after the man permitted the dog to attack.
The woman required significant medical care resulting in lifelong complications as a result of the attack, which was not the first incident involving the dog.
As a result of his conviction under the Dog Owners’ Liability Act, the 33-year-old man was fined $2500 and also ordered to pay $24,000.
