A disturbing discovery for Chatham-Kent police Monday night. On November 12th a man was released from court with several conditions. That included not carrying weapons or false ID.
About 11:30 Monday night officers responded to a call about a suspicious person sleeping in the lobby of a Chatham business.
Beside the man was a backpack with a 12 inch butcher knife, and further investigation turned up another knife and a driver’s license belonging to a Chatham woman.
The 37 year old man of no fixed address was charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and two counts of failing to comply.
