Essex OPP have called in the provinces Special Investigations Unit following the death of a citizen Friday night.
Officers were called out to a disturbance in the 600 block of Estate Park in Tecumseh about 9 pm.
During the investigation an officer and a member of the public were injured in a police involved shooting.
Both were transported to hospital where the civilian, a 48 year old Tecumseh man was pronounced deceased.
The officer sustained non life threatening injuries.
Once SIU are called in the OPP can not release any further details.
