Local Jr C hockey players will have to get vaccinated against COVID-19 if they want to hit the ice this season.
The PJHL has released a joint statement along with the Northern Ontario and Ontario Junior Hockey Leagues.
The policy applies to all players, coaches, trainers, team and league staff, officials, volunteers, and billet families. No word yet on vaccination requirements for fans at this point.
Meantime, the Wallaceburg Thunderhawks and Dresden Jr Kings play their first exhibition game Friday night at Thames Campus in Chatham. Puck drop is 9pm.
The PJHL’s regular 2021-22 season is slated to start October 1st.
