It’s the end of a tumultuous era in Wheatley.
A special ceremony is being held to mark the end of the emergency in Wheatley, over three years after a gas explosion ripped through the downtown core.
The emergency order was put in place July 19, 2021 following the detection of hydrogen sulphide gas, just over a month before an explosion destroyed several properties around 15 Erie Street North and expanded the evacuation zone.
Municipal and emergency officials will be on hand at the Civic Centre tomorrow to declare the ordeal over.
