Plans are in the works for a pair of events to mark International Overdose Awareness Day.
Reach Out Chatham-Kent, or ROCK, will be hosing events at its drop-in centres in Chatham and Wallaceburg on August 20 to remember without stigma those who have been lost and acknowledge the grief of family and friends left behind.
The Chatham event runs from 3-6pm at 39 Richmond Street with food and art projects. The Wallaceburg event takes place at 233 Nelson Street from 1-4pm, featuring a memorial service and live music.
Both events, in collaboration with the Chatham-Kent Drug Strategy and Chatham-Kent Public Health, are free of charge and open to everyone.
