Highgate’s Mary Webb Centre is getting a boost from the Municipality, but they’ll have to work a little harder to get it.
The Centre originally asked for $250,000 to cover the rest of their renovation costs, but Council had some concerns with that price tag.
They’ll now receive a quarter of that – to the tune of $62,000 if they can match that amount through fundraising.
The proposal began as a bridge funding request earlier this year, but passed last night as a one-time economic stimulus.
The money will come through the Strategic Reserve, and will be used to install windows and doors.
