A local women’s organization is celebrating 90 years in the community by giving back.
The May Court Club of Chatham is marking its anniversary by donating $20,000 to the Chatham-Kent Public Library.
Officials say part of the money is earmarked for Children’s Services to add a reading nook, interactive play wall, and a “sort and stack” storykit to the Chatham Branch, items that can be moved to the new Chatham-Kent Community Hub when it opens in early 2028.
The May Court Club of Chatham is a local service organization dedicated to addressing the needs in our community, primarily those of women and children through volunteerism and fundraising.
CKPL officials say the partnership will continue with an announcement on another project planned for the May Court Club’s donation expected in the spring.
