Chatham-Kent’s mayor is offering his condolences on the loss of three young adults in Wallaceburg over the long weekend.
Two women and a man, all in their early-to-mid 20s, were killed in a collision at the corner of McNaughton Avenue and Wallace Street when their car collided with a semi-tanker truck Sunday night.
Mayor Darrin Canniff says it is a heartbreaking loss for the community.
“It’s a terrible situation, but we’ll get through it together,” Canniff said. “Know that Chatham-Kent is here supporting you, praying for the families and we’ll get through this together.”
Two other passengers in the vehicle were hurt, one of whom remains in critical condition in London.
The crash remains under investigation by the Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Management Unit.
Canniff is urging anyone affected by the tragedy to reach out to Chatham-Kent Victim Services for support – 519-436-6630 or email [email protected].
