With just one day left for Chatham-Kent residents to file nominations for the upcoming municipal election, another name has come forward in Ward 4.
42-year-old Jamie McGrail says she hopes to be a voice for rural residents.
“I’ve heard a lot (about) the lack of communication, as in internet, as in the ability to do our every day jobs,” McGrail says. “There’s a lot of stuff going on out there that might be not in a brick-and-mortar kind of way, we have our agriculture and that’s big business for us.”
McGrail lives in Mitchell’s Bay and has experience as a board member at the United Way, as well as the Director of the Chatham-Kent Soil and Crop Improvement Association.
She’s running against six other candidates in Ward 4, including incumbent councillor Joe Faas.
