A handful of municipal officials have been given a behind-the-scenes tour of construction on Union Gas’ Panhandle project.
Wallaceburg Councillor Carmen McGregor says she’s impressed.
“I think as a community we drive by it every day and we don’t really…we know it’s happening, what they’re doing, and the ultimate purpose, but we don’t see how they’re doing it,” McGregor explains. “I’m so impressed at the lengths they go to for safety, the respect they’re are taking to the farmers’ land or the environment, and everything.”
McGregor says workers are very respectful or nearby farmers and homeowners.
She says the project is on schedule, expected to be done around the end of October.
