Some much-needed provincial funding could be coming Chatham-Kent’s way to help fix up roads and bridges.
Infrastructure Minister Monte McNaughton made his second funding announcement in as many days today, pledging $30-billion for projects across Ontario.
“Our economy, communities, and families all depend on infrastructure. This program will bring major infrastructure investments that people rely on,” McNaughton says. “And when we invest in smart infrastructure, we create jobs and grow the economy, shaping the future for hard-working families in Ontario.”
The money comes from the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program which covers federal, provincial, and local investments in communities across the province over the next 10 years.
Rural and northern communities with populations of 100-thousand and under will get the first kick at the can, with application process opening on March 18th.
