McNaughton Talks Up Skill Trades For Students

Local MPP and Labour Minister Monte McNaughton has rolled out a new program aimed at promoting skilled trades to grade 12 students around the province.

The program is expected to give students and families the upsides of these trades that can provide a challenging and lucrative career with a salary, for many, in the 6 figures.

The list includes jobs like Stone Masons, Boilermakers, Millwrights, Electricians,  Insulators and Heavy Equipment Operators, and there is a shortfall in these areas right now.

The province put $3.5 million into the program bringing the total input to $5 million.
