Members of the school community at Chatham-Kent Secondary School in Chatham are now being isolated as a precaution due to potential exposure to a probable case of COVID-19.
CK Public Health is contacting all close contacts and isolating those that could have been exposed. If you are not contacted by the health unit, you do not need to be tested or isolate.
Students were previously isolated at St. Anne’s Catholic School in Blenheim as well as UCC The Pines and Tecumseh Public School in Chatham. A service provider for both school boards was also confirmed as a positive case last week. The school cases were later linked to a community outbreak at a place of worship in Blenheim.
CK Public Health confirmed 12 new cases of the infection in Chatham-Kent on Monday.
Three C-K residents are now in hospital with the virus.
The active case count, which was down to zero for a brief period of time just ten days ago has now jumped to 26.
The health unit says two cases have been added to the recovery list.
Chatham-Kent has now had 400 total cases during the pandemic with 371 recoveries and three deaths.
