Millions of dollars’ worth of cocaine has been seized at the Blue Water Bridge.
Officials with the Canada Border Services Agency say roughly 419 kilograms of suspected cocaine was seized following two recent enforcement actions at the border crossing, with an estimated street value of $11-million.
Authorities say four duffle bags carrying roughly 86 kg of suspected cocaine, worth roughly $2.3-million, were found in a commercial truck coming from the US in late February.
A week later, officers pulled another tractor trailer coming from the United States in for secondary inspection and seized 333 kg of suspected cocaine, worth an estimated $9-million.
The drivers, from Innisfil and Brampton respectively, have been charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act with importation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking.
The two accused and the drugs have since been transferred to the custody of the RCMP.
