The Ministry of Education has released a 29 page document to guide schools across the province on their return to the classroom this fall.

The plan is outlined for both elementary and secondary schools and it will see them return full time this fall, unless parents opt to have their children participate in remote learning as it will be continued to be offered.

Secondary students are projected to return 5 days a week to the classroom. This is in contrast to the cohort setup that was used last school year that had students split into separate cohorts on alternating days.

Elementary schools will continue cohorting, as was the case last year.

Students in grades 1 through 12 will be required to wear masks indoors. Phys Ed will see students remove their masks as long as they are taking part in low contact activities.

The screening of symptoms prior to students entering schools is being phased out and will now instead require parents to screen their children for a list of symptoms at home.

Full details of the plan can be viewed at the Ministry of Education website via the link below.
