Mitchell Paul “Nda-Miigaazo-Ninaanh” Sands , a resident of Walpole Island First Nation, died peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the age of 52. Mitchie was the son of the late Emerson Butch & Leona Frances (Johnson) Sands. Loving partner of Amie Sands. Beloved father of Jennifer Lorraine Sands and the late Micheal Paul Sands and Colleen Marie Sands. Dear grandfather of Tasha Naanitus Lee Sands and Mitchell Lunoosh Emerson Sands. Mitchie’s passion was billiards and creating art. An accomplished artist, he loved to draw, paint, carve wood and create jewelry. The family will receive relatives and friends at home at 302 Austin Road on Walpole Island on Sunday and Monday. The funeral will be celebrated at St John the Baptist Anglican Church, Walpole Island on Tuesday, April 28 at 2 PM.
