The Municipality is spending millions of dollars on much needed repairs for bridges.
General Manager of Infrastructure and Engineering Services Thomas Kelly says these repairs are necessary to keep the structures safe for area residents to use:
“We spent a lot of time doing our research and doing our homework to determine if we’re providing the optimum design and therefore the construction costs as well,” Kelly says. “Bridges are certainly vital to the community as a means of transportation, and we feel that this money is being well spent and very efficiently as well.”
Nearly $10-million is being spent on bridges in Dover and Camden, as well as crossings in Maple Leaf Cemetery, and the Fifth Street Bridge in Chatham.
