Lambton Kent Middlesex MPP Monte McNaughton

After Patrick Brown stepped down as leader of the Ontario PC Party earlier this week, local MPP Monte McNaughton is commenting on the situation.

“I immediately reached out to the majority of my PC caucus colleagues. I wanted Patrick Brown to step down immediately. We had two very serious and long conference calls as a Conservative caucus that night with Patrick Brown on those calls”, says McNaughton.

“Of the members on the calls, which were the majority, we were unanimous in asking him, and demanding him, to step down because that’s in the best interest of the PC party, and he has to deal with those allegations against him on his own”, McNaughton says.

Yesterday, the Ontario PCs elected an interim leader, and McNaughton says it isn’t clear at the moment if they’ll be electing a permanent leader who will run in the upcoming provincial election this June.
