More charges have been laid in connection to illegal church gatherings.
A 44-year-old member of the Old Colony Mennonite Church in Wheatley has been charged under the Reopening Ontario Act following services held on May 9th and May 16th.
The Wheatley man will have to appear in court on June 23rd.
Several charges have been laid in connection to services at the Wheatley church since December, as well as more recent charges against members of Old Colony churches in Dresden and Charing Cross.
Authorities say they continue to receive and investigate complaints about gatherings at churches across the municipality.
The maximum fine for organizers of indoor church services under the province’s stay at home order is $10,000.
