Another jump in COVID patients at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.
Hospital officials say 33 patients have the virus, up from just 25 on Monday.
Six COVID-positive patients are in the ICU, three are on ventilators.
Overall, officials say of the 33 COVID patients, 16 are unvaccinated.
The hospital’s ICU has reached full capacity once again, the PCU (progressive care unit) sits at just over 83.3%, and medical, surgical, and critical care beds are just over 93% filled.
Staffing levels continue to be affected by the virus with 77 staff off work because of testing positive for COVID-19 or coming in close contact with a confirmed case.
Another 66 are isolating at work, and one is working from home.
Public Health is reporting 53 new cases today, although officials say case counts are an underestimate because of a reduction in testing.
Across Chatham-Kent, there are now nine active outbreaks, including the CKHA dialysis unit, six long term care facilities, and two group homes.
