Authorities are sharing more details of a home invasion in Tilbury earlier this week.

Elgin OPP previous released information about the arrest of one suspect in Dutton-Dunwich following a robbery in Tilbury early Thursday morning.

According to Chatham-Kent Police, two men went into a Mable Street home shortly after 3am, restrained the victim and assaulted him before stealing several items, including the victim’s cell phone, wallet, computer, and the vehicle parked in the driveway.

OPP then tracked the vehicle and made an arrest with the help of the OPP canine unit and Emergency Response team. Evidence was collected from the scene for forensic analysis.

A London man was handed over to Chatham-Kent Police. The 38-year-old is charged with breaking and entering and committing robbery. Following a bail hearing, he was remanded into custody.

The search continues for a second suspect, although authorities believe this was an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
