As contract disputes with the province drag on, Ontario’s elementary teachers say rotating strikes will continue into next week.

Another day of strike action by local ETFO members is coming up tomorrow with all public elementary schools will be closed.

And now, schools in the Lambton Kent District School Board will be affected next Monday and Tuesday as well – the first being rotating strike action, the second is another province-wide walkout.

High school and English Catholic teachers will be back in the classroom today after yesterday’s strike action.

At this point, no further strike dates have been announced either of those unions.

Meantime, a new three-year agreement has been ratified between the province and the Educational Workers Alliance of Ontario, which represents close to 4000 education assistants, early childhood educators, custodians, and maintenance staff.

Terms of the deal include a 1% wage increase, as well as restoring about 100 full-time equivalent EWAO positions.
