More trouble could be brewing along the Lake Erie Shoreline.

A strong wind warning is in effect for western Lake Erie with strong southwest winds that are expected to last into Saturday afternoon.

The Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority says there is the risk for more shoreline damage and the potential for more flooding on Erie Shore Drive.

Officials say the lake levels are already high, and waves could damage shoreline protection works and cause further erosion in Chatham-Kent and Elgin County.

People should take extra caution and avoid the shoreline should conditions get rough. The waves can be strong and the shoreline slippery.  There could also be hazardous debris within the waves and water which could be thrown onto the shore.
