Work is expected to be ramping back up in Wheatley this week as crews continue coring a well closest to the site of last summer’s explosion.
Additional heavy equipment is being brought to the area today to help coring the APEC 1 well to learn more about its construction and depth.
Meantime, municipal officials say of the 58 properties left within the evacuation zone, orders on 15 residential and six commercial property have been rescinded, allowing owners to move back in.
Of the 34 homeowners who were evacuated after the explosion, 10 have returned home with another expected shortly.
