The majority of COVID patients being treated at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance continue to be unvaccinated.
CEO Lori Marshall said of the 10 COVID-positive patients in critical care, both the ICU and PCU, 90 per cent are unvaccinated.
Overall, 33 patients are currently being treated for the virus.
In the meantime, Chatham-Kent Public Health reported an additional 163 new cases of COVID-19 across the municipality on Thursday.
A month-long outbreak at a local manufacturing plant that resulted in a total of 18 COVID cases has been resolved. However, there are five outbreaks across the municipality, all connected to retirement and long-term care homes.
