A Chatham man is fighting for his life in hospital following a crash in Chatham.

Shortly after 8 o’clock Sunday night, emergency crews responded to a single motorcycle collision on Baldoon Road, south of McNaughton Avenue West.

Authorities say the driver lost control of the red Suzuki GXR bike while travelling northbound, left the road near Finch Avenue, and crashed into a ‘No Parking’ sign on the east side of the road.

The 48-year-old Chatham man suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital.

The family has been notified, however the driver’s name is not being released at this point.

The Chatham-Kent Police Traffic Unit continues to investigate. Any witnesses are urged to contact Constable Lisa Rodger at lisaro@chatham-kent.ca or 519-355-1092.
