Provincial Police are working to keep motorcycle riders safer on the roads.
This Sunday, a special safety information session will be held at the Tilbury North ONroute service centre.
So far this year, there has been one motorcycle fatality in Ontario’s West Region, but 27 on OPP-patrolled roads across Ontario. That compares to 16 West Region deaths in 2022 and 34 province-wide.
The top three contributing factors in motorcycle fatalities are loss of control, failing to yield the right of way, and excessive speed.
Officials will go over questions about safety gear maintenance, and rules of the road. A safety kiosk will be set up with members of the OPP motorcycle patrol and other experts from the OPP West Region Traffic and Marine Unit.
The drop-in event runs from 10am until 2pm, no registration required.
