Ontario is expected to move ahead with its reopening plan two days earlier than planned.
An official announcement is expected today, but sources say the province will enter Step 2 of COVID restrictions on June 30th, allowing salons and barber shops to reopen as well as increase capacity limits for restaurant patios, retail, and outdoor gatherings.
The keys to entering step two include 70% of adults having one dose of COVID vaccine and 20% fully vaccinated.
As of Wednesday, 76% of Ontario adults had been given their first shot and as many as 27% have received both doses, which already exceeds the amount needed for Step 3 of Ontario’s reopening plan.
