Despite a rising federal debit and ethical concerns with the Trudeau Liberals, one local MP says 2016 had its share of highlights.
Lambton Kent Middlesex MP Bev Shipley says he’s glad to see the Canada-European trade agreement in place after years of work.
Shipley says, “In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex, agriculture relies on trade. Likely across the country, 50% of what we produce and grow here, we export. So we need to have access to markets as other countries want access into our country for things that we don’t produce or manufacture here.”
Shipley says 2016 held some challenges for the Conservatives, adjusting to their first full year in opposition.
